Hello - Can anyone assist in sorting out the Ninja/Ntone compilation catalog? These are the compilations I've heard word of so far: V/A - Tone Tales 1 V/A - Tone Tales from Tomorrow Too (CD-ROM) Ntone V/A - Earthrise Ninja 1 V/A - Earthrise Ninja 2 (2-CD) Instinct / Shadow v/A - Ninja Cuts 1 V/A - Ninja Cuts 2 V/A - Flexistentialism (Ninja Cuts 2 (2-CD)) V/A - Earthrise Ntone 1 Are there others that I missed? Do some of these compilations reproduce the content of others? Information so far gathered from the haphazard ntone/ninja site at: http://www.southern.com/PIPE/ntoneninjahp.html Also thanks to ear-rational for additional info. Thank you for any assistance. Best, 3

Just now getting around to responding to this and if anyone else can clarify, I'd appreciate it (ie, tracklistings that differ (or if the stuff is *completely* different on different versions), etc.) too.... Zenon sez:
quoted 7 lines Hello -> Hello - > > Can anyone assist in sorting out the Ninja/Ntone compilation catalog? > These are the compilations I've heard word of so far: > > V/A - Tone Tales 1 > V/A - Tone Tales from Tomorrow Too (CD-ROM) Ntone
These come from the UK Ntone (which is supposed to be the "experimental" or ambientish arm of the NInja empire).
quoted 2 lines V/A - Earthrise Ninja 1> V/A - Earthrise Ninja 1 > V/A - Earthrise Ninja 2 (2-CD) Instinct / Shadow
These are apparently US compilations (altho I don't think I've seen them in stores - the only US comps I've seen are TripHop & Jazz (1CD) and If Ya Can't STand Da Beatz (2CD)).
quoted 2 lines v/A - Ninja Cuts 1> v/A - Ninja Cuts 1 > V/A - Ninja Cuts 2
UK comps of Ninja artists.
quoted 1 line V/A - Flexistentialism (Ninja Cuts 2 (2-CD))> V/A - Flexistentialism (Ninja Cuts 2 (2-CD))
I thought this *was* Ninja Cuts 2 instead of being a separate release.
quoted 1 line V/A - Earthrise Ntone 1> V/A - Earthrise Ntone 1
US comp of Ntone artists (and there's an Ntone 2 out now - both on Instinct/Shadow if I'm not mistaken)
quoted 1 line Are there others that I missed?> Are there others that I missed?
Prob'ly. :-)
quoted 1 line Do some of these compilations reproduce the content of others?> Do some of these compilations reproduce the content of others?
Definitely. :-) cya brian

What I recently heard from a cat at Instinct is that there is only an Earthrise.ntone.1 and an Earthrise.ninja.2. That is, the numbers increment with the changes of labels. Presumably, Earthrise.x.3 will feature label x. At any rate, the above 2 are the only Earthrise ninja/ntone comps I've found so far. Best, Zenon M. Feszczak Ntonalist
